Haeve a strange probleme updating SQL-Anywhere 8.03 for netware with EBF
build 5444. Installation program runs without any problem or error
message, but files in the destination directory where not changed.
What is the cause of the problem?

Were any of the .NLMs in use at the time of the upgrade? If the database
server was running, it needs to be shutdown first. Alternatively, you can
run the upgrade and store the .NLMs on your Windows machine, then copy them
over to your Netware server.

As Josh mentioned, the most likely cause of the problem is that the SQL
Anywhere files on the Netware machine were in use when you tried to apply
the EBF. If you re-run the EBF after verifying that the database server is
shut down on the Netware box, do the files get updated properly?

Checked the problem again, looks like now that only DBSRV8.NLM is not
updated on the XP-box and the server ( database-server shut-down ),
after the the update the dbserver ist starting with the old
version-number ( 8.03.5426 ).

What happens if you try to manually copy the dbsrv8.nlm file from a Windows
machine to the Netware machine? Does the file copy succeed?

Now I did a complete new installation on my XP-box, applied all updates
( incl. EBF5444 ) and copied it to the server, all worked well! Version
number is now correct!
