I am unable to launch the LIS Control Panel. When I click
the link in the Administrator Console for the Control Panel
executable, IE seems to mistakenly interpret the extension
of the executable. Because of this, instead of executing
the file it only gives the option to save the file to disk.
In Figure 1 (attached) it is shown that IE cannot recognize
the file type. If look at the Properties window for the
link to the executable, one can see that IE thinks the file
type is "EXE?ADMIN=TRUE&KEY=4A0BE706-1A0B-4A8B-".

Steps I have taken so far to fix the problem:
1)Installed the LIS Control Panel Prerequisites: everything
seems to indicate that this was installed successfully.
2)Checked the SOAP message size property: it's set to 8192.
3)Checked how IIS handles .exe files for /RFIDAnywhere: The
settings are just as the LIS Installation Guide requires
them to be.

I know I'm not the first to encounter this problem; others
encountered this problem during the Fast Track training I
attended last week. For the life of me, I can't recall what
the solution was, if one was even reached. Any ideas?

I don't believe I successfully attached the file to the
parent; I'm attempting to do so again. Blame my reflex to
try to as much as possible in Firefox.

Hi Robert,

your problem is related to a security issue with IE, you have to review the
permissions, on your IE, an allow to execute the file to open the LIS
console.

D
