Hi Guys,

Is there any equivalent to the SIX sx_DefTriger() functionality in ADS?

If there is I can't see it.

Regards & TIA,

Ian

Hi Ian,

Based on the name of that API, I'm guessing it creates a trigger or maybe
sets a default trigger? Advantage does support triggers; you can find
information about them in the help file. However, I don't think it is
possible to use triggers from a CA-Clipper application if that is what you
are looking for. It is necessary to use an Advantage Data Dictionary in
order to use triggers. It is not possible to connect to a data dictionary
from a Clipper application.

Hi Mark,

Thanks for your reply. I had come to the same conclusion but was hoping I was
wrong.<g>

I'm not sure and I also didn't test it before...but if you use AIS
(which requires a dictionary connection), then the Clipper operations
should also fire the triggers defined on the tables. However, these
triggers are for sure different than the Apollo ones and I would rather
convert to Harbour to get an ACE based connection.
