Is there any way i can deploy SQL Anywhere 9 through
WinServer 2003 via group policy? Maybe a way to create a
deployment package, .msi file? Any help about remote
deployment would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Vitaliy

Vitaliy,

I've never heard of anyone deploying SQL Anywhere 9 via a group policy, but
that doesn't mean it can't be done. For SQL Anywhere 9 you have option of
using InstallShield merge modules to create an installer.

SQL Anywhere 9 docs:

Deploying Databases and Applications

SQL Anywhere 10 has a Deployment wizard that allows you to create a .MSI
installer.

Using the Deployment wizard

ASA does not provide tools to create the MSI needed for a GROUP POLICY
based deployment. There are many installer tools in the marketplace that
can be used to create the MSI. SQL Anywhere provides InstallShield
'components' to help you with building an install. However, you can also
build your own custom install logic based on the deployment information
included in the online help.

There are many great resources on the Internet that discuss the
techniques involved in a GROUP POLICY deployment. I suspect that
Microsoft also has resources on its site. SQL Anywhere does not have any
specific documentation, that I am aware of, for GROUP POLICY deployment.
