Hello.

I'm using Powerbuilder 7.0...

It is possible to make some text on objects blinking? I would like to be
able to show critical items (nodes) on a treeview to blink when they have a
particular status.... is that possible? how?

Thanks..!

Hi Alex,

without hacking through some Windows API stuff you may
be restricted to change the font from bold to normal and back
or to swap the picture of the nodes in a timer event. To do this
get the node, check the property (bold or pictureIndex),
change it appropriate and set it back into the treeview.

Clearing the text and setting it back would be "real" blinking.
Therefor you have to store the original text of the icon somewhere,
for instance in the data attribute of the treeViewItem

Mmmm

Yes... I think it would be a better choice to use an adequate status
picture...

Thanks.

Poor GUI design to use blinking text IMO.

I think it can be done with Animation control. Just create
an animation that blinks or whatever...hide/show it
depending on condition. Maybe this works.
