Since one of our users has upgraded to a Palm Tungsten E2
device and Pylon Pro, all of her tasks show a "notification"
time of 224 days in advance -- each day, when she turns on
her Palm device, it notifies her of all of the tasks that
are due within the next 224 days.

We've tried looking for settings within the device and Pylon
Pro, and have done a hard reset on the device three times to
make sure that's not the problem. The entries look correct
in Lotus Notes itself; all alarms and notifications are the
usual 3 days or 30 minutes, etc.

Is there a setting in Pylon Pro that I'm missing? Anything
else I can try to resolve this issue?

Brian,

There is no setting in Pylon Pro that would make this expected behavior.

Has the user done at least one synchronization in "Desktop overwrites
Handheld" mode? If not, I would recommend she do so.

Do the tasks remain 224 days in the future, or do they get closer each
day? If she resynchronizes, does it set the notification time back to
224 days? If she creates a new Task in Notes, is it also pushed forward?

224 days from today is May 1, 2008. Is there any particular significance
of this date to this user?

Yes, we do the first few synchronizations in "Desktop
overwrites handheld" mode. No particular significance to
the May 2008 date; all notifications, every morning, stay at
224 days -- she is receiving a notification for each and
every task she has set for due 224 days in advance -- and
any new tasks she adds in Lotus with the proper date
settings come across the handheld as "notify 224 days in
advance". Resynchronizing doesn't help as it does the
notification for everything due within the next 224 days,
regardless of the Lotus Notes setting.

I just have no idea where to go beyond this.

Brian,

What about if she doesn't synchronize for a day? Do the task still show
224 days in the future? If existing tasks are being pushed forward
without Pylon's intervention, then I would look to the hardware or the OS.

In the Pylon Configuration database, click on Advanced Options: Enabled,
and set the log level to 3. After determining the answer to the above
question, synchronize, then zip up and post the hotsync log and the four
pylonlog.txt files. You will find them in:

C:\Program Files\palmOne\<Notes User Name>\pylon

This can vary according to the first version of Palm Desktop installed,
the base directory could be C:\Program Files\Palm or C:\Palm.

I will examine the logs for further clues.
