Hi,

Server: Linux SLES 9.2, ADS 8.10.0.18 (Port: 6262)
Client: WinXP sp2, Clipper 5.3b app (DBFAXS.LIB 12.09.2003), ADSDOSIP
12.09.2003

This system works fine with ADS 7.1.
Now, with ADS 8.1, I get the error #6060 (no ADS server available) if I try
to connect to a table.

I've tested the following:
Arc32: Management: I can connect to the server using \\servername:6262
Arc32: Management: I can connect to the server using driveletter "P:"
Arc32: Database: I can open the "database.add" file using \\servername:6262,
I can open the tables (no errors, no entries in ads_err)
Arc32: Database: I can open the "database.add" file using driveletter "P:",
I can open the tables (no errors, no entries in ads_err)
Client: I can connect and open tables (via ADSDOSIP) to an ADS 8.1 server
windows using driveletter W:
But:
Client: If I try to connect to the ADS 8.1 linux (driveletter P:), I get the
error #6060, but no error on the server in ads_err
in ADSDOIP: "Packets", "Bytes send" and "Bytes receive" count, but on the
server "total packets" and "operations" don't count

ads.ini (yes, the IP is correct):
[SETTINGS]
ADS_SERVER_TYPE = 2
[miclinux]
LAN_IP=172.31.0.2
LAN_PORT=6262

Any Idea?

Ciao
Frank

Frank,

Is there a chance that ADSDOSIP is picking up a different ADS.ini file?

Also, is drive letter P: mapped to the IP Address or the servername? If
IP Address modify the ads.ini to use [172.31.0.2] instead of [miclinux]

Hi Edgar,

The adsdosip.exe was moved to an other directory, and there was no ads.ini
I've copied ads.ini to the directory, where adsdosip.exe is.
Now it works.

Thanx

Frank
