Guys/Girls.
This may sound liek a pretty silly question but I need a
definitive answer
we have a server taht has sysmon running on it every 20
minutes
there is a older script that runs sp_monitor on the same
server every 10 minutes,
are the counters for cache pool configuation reset by the
running sp_monitor and sp_sysmon at along side each other

depending on the ASE version, you can have sp_sysmon not reset the counters.

Here is the link to sp_sysmon in ASE 15 -- Note the noclear option.

Have you loaded the MDA tables??

If so, then the new version of sp_monitor leverages some of the same
counters as sp_sysmon - which ones can be determined by the status bit
in monTableColumns - mainly the values for disk IO. Otherwise, the old
12.0 version of sp_monitor doesn't affect the counters.

Or were you really meaning Monitor Server vs. sp_sysmon??

I would suggest transitioning to monitoring via MDA - sp_sysmon is only
good for spinlock contention and repagent stats. All other stats are
more accurately gathered through MDA.
