Hi All,

We are using physicall user (not logical user) connectivity in our
application ( means user who can connect thru application, that name also
should be in database as user ).
In this case I want to create/modify(in case of password changing)
connection cache for each user separately.

In Appeon 5.x providing to create connection cache thru "Configuration".

Is any workaround or function ?

Thanks in Advance
Antony

Hi Antony,
Please refer to Appeon Help for PowerBuilder| Appeon Server
configuration Guide | Database Connection Setup | Setting up
transaction object to connection cache | Dynamic trasaction
object to connection cache. I believe relevant information
is pubulished in it.
Let me know if more concerns.

Regards
Sally

Hi Sally,

In the help there is only "Dynamic transaction object to connection
cache mapping" , not creation of connection cache,
Is it possible/any workaround to create a connection cache dynamically
from the Application itself when creating a user.

eg. assume Database User Name is "abc", I want to create Connection
Cache like "abc_cc", so when "abc" is logging in, I can map "abc_cc" as
connection cache.
Note :- When the user change the password also I have to change the
password in the connection cache, thru the Application.

Thanks in Advance
Antony

this was my problem before, I want to have a dynamic
username and password because I only want one connection
cache but I can't find a way to do it. Instead, I used a
dynamic connection cache. With this approach, you will have
to create a connection cache per user. The only downside
that I've sen so far for this one is when you change the
password of a user in the database you will have to change
its password in its connection cache. But once the
connection cache is connected it will not disconnect, it
will set its status only to inactive using an oracle session
script.

If you are using the Sybase DB check into using a proxy user. It's a
user ID that can assume another ID'd identity. I believe you need to use
the SYJ driver for it to work properly. I haven't tried it myself yet,
but I was looking it up while check for same problem.
