Hi,

One of our production server running on Linux. Following is
the version details
Adaptive Server Enterprise/12.5.3/EBF 12897
ESD#3/P/x86_64/Enterprise Linux/ase1253/1916/64-bit/OPT/Wed
Aug 3 18:14:45 2005
With 3.4 GB of data cahce. (1.8G 2K and 1.6GB 16K).
But Index creation is not picking up large IO. It is taking
2K only. There was not activity on the server at that time.

Can you please suggest me what should we do pick 16K for
index creation

Thanks in advance
K

Can you elaborate a bit more on why you believe the 16Kb pool is not used?

Hi Rob,

Thank you for your response. Sorry for the delay.

We are dropping re-creating the indexes in the weekend.
One of our production servers has 14GB of default data cache
with 2K. In the weekend we are configuring 16K with 10GB
and 2K with 4GB and running index re-creation and dbcc. But
Index re-creation is taking 2K only (showplan is showing 2k
pages). It is taking lot of time to complete. # of sort
buffers param value is 500.
