If a schedule is not identified for Mobilink how often
doesn't synchronization downloads occurs. If every 10
minutes, is it every 10 minutes regardless of the start time
or 10 minutes after every hour?

The EVERY keyword causes synchronization to occur on startup, and then
repeat indefinitely after the specified time period. If the
synchronization process takes longer than the specified period,
synchronization starts again immediately

So if you specify every 10 minutes in should execute every ten minutes
unless synchronization takes longer than 10 minutes in which case the
synchronization would occur as soon as the previous sync had finished.

Below is the script I am using to create the database event
for starting up Mobilink. With this script how often will
Mobilink scan the log and send updates to the consolidated?

Herman,

I'm not sure this will work as there is no schedule or handler defined.

I think a better way to accomplish what you are trying to do might be
through the following:

CREATE SYNCHRONIZATION SUBSCRIPTION TO mypub
FOR mluser
ADDRESS 'host=localhost'
OPTION schedule='EVERY:0000:10'

or start dbmlsync with this command line option:

dbmlsync -e "sch=EVERY:0000:10"

Both of these should cause the client to synchronize every 10 minutes.

Please view the following section in the documentation:

MobiLink - Client Administration > SQL Anywhere Clients

Scheduling synchronization

Herman,

The way you have set it up, it will call this event when the database is
started. This will then execute dbmlsync, and without a schedule
specified it will run once and then shut down.
