Hi,

I have Motorola Q 9m and I installed Pylon Conduit (for
PocketPC). I also have Microsoft ActiveSync installed.
The Pylon software installed just fine on the PC and the
Phone. When I sync, the Pylon sync and ActiveSync both show
Synchronized, but I don't see any changes on my phone (for
now, I've set it up to only sync new emails, but I don't see
any of my new emails show up on my phone). I am using Lotus
Notes for my email on my PC. It's set up so the email
database is a local replica (don't know if that makes any
difference).
Any advice would is appreciated.

Thanks,
Goran

Goran,

If you look at the Pylon Supported Platforms Matrix at
http://www.ianywhere.com/developer/technotes/pylon_supported_platforms.html
, you will see the following paragraph:

A Note about Microsoft PocketPC and Windows Mobile Handhelds
There are generally 3 versions of the Microsoft Mobile handheld
operating systems. Windows Mobile 5, Windows Mobile 5 Phone Edition, and
Windows Mobile 5 Smartphone. The first two are full-fledged versions of
the handheld operating system. The last one (Smartphone) is generally a
limited-feature version and does not support the capabilities required
by Pylon to function correctly. Some phones will be using the Phone
Edition, some will be using the Smartphone version. Please verify with
your manufacturer as Pylon will NOT work with Smartphone.

The Motorola Q uses Windows Mobile Smartphone, so it is not supported.

If you switch to a supported phone, there a couple of things you need to
know:

1. Synching with Activesync will not synchronize Pylon. You need to
right-click on the "Pylon Sync App" in your system tray and choose
"Synchronize".

2. To synchronize with a local replica of your mail file, you need to go
into the Filters section of the Pylon Configuration database and change
the Server to "Local" and click on the pull-down menu after "Database"
and select your mail file. Make sure the filter you are editing
corresponds to the filter specified in your Configuration. Save the filter.

If you use the default settings for the filter, Pylon will attempt to
synchronize with your Domino server, which may or may not work depending
on your network setup.

Hope this helps,

Mike Loop

Thank you very much. This explains my problem.
