Hi,

Our application was developed using the 32 bit version of SQL Anywhere
Studio 9.0.

We are now deploying to a 64 bit server and I have not been successful in
launching my application, with the main problem focusing around the driver
for the odbc connection.

My question is:

Can my 32 bit application run on a 64 bit server and if so how?

I can't set up the odbc connection when I install the 32 bit version of sql.

I can set up the odbc connection when I install the 64 bit version.

however, when I try to launch my application I get this error message

"Cannot connect to databae SQL state = IM002 [Microsoft][ODBC Drive
Manager] data source not found and no default driver specified'

I don't know if there is a step I missed or if what I am trying to do is not
possible.

Thanks

Loya

Yes. 32 bit applications can run on Windows 64bit.

Are you sure that you are running the correct bit-ness for the odbc
driver. For 32 bit client applications, you need to use the 32bit driver.

Make sure that you have installed the 32 bit client components. And make
sure that you are using the 32bit ODBC administrator (unfortunately, MS
uses the same exe name for both the 32bit and 64bit administrator.

Sounds like you have a 64 bit DSN created and it is not visible to 32bit
applications.
