Hi,

I've noticed that Workspace doesn't understand derived
tables, even when you set the connection profile to 15.x and
the syntax portability validation to 15.x.

So for example:

select a.t from (select name as t from sysobjects) a where
a.t like 'sys%'

will say that "a" is not expected.

I don't use derived tables all the times, but when they are
used they cause the syntax validator to fail, so using F3 to
load an object in that SQL script fails, which is just a
little bit annoying :-)

Michael

Table Expressions (in FROM clause) should be supported since they are part
of ASE SQL syntax. I verified that the WorkSpace SQL Editor handles that
syntax ok for ASA but not for ASE.

I have logged a bug report (492678) for the problem.

Samir

I found another syntax check issue:

The

select top N ... from ...

form is not understood (both the 12.x and 15.x syntax checks
fail)

Thanks,

Michael
