Jerry,

I would recommend that you take a look at the videos on WorkSpace (quickest
way to get started) http://www.sybase.com/workspacevideos. The WorkSpace
overview section and Database Development sections should be good ones to
look at. Also if you like details review the "Getting started guide" as well
as the online documentation (Help->Welcome menu). Also checkout the
http://www.sybase.com/sql_development page created for new WorkSpace users.

Now, with regards t0 your question...

1. Open Database Development Perspective (Window->Open Perspective->Other)

2. Go to Enterprise Explorer view and Right click on Databases folder and
choose New Connection Profile. That will launch a wizard to create a new
connection profile to your database server (I presume you are connecting to
a Sybase database server). Connection Profile is a way to store the
connection infomration for a server.

3. Once created, you can connect to the server using right-click "Connect"
option on the connection profile.

Hope that helps.

Regards,
Samir
