I am using PB7.0.3. Is it possible to create dw with tables from
different databases?
I defined two transaction objects and I can retrieve data from two
databases but only one databese to one dw.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Carlo

Hi Carlo;

One DW can retrieve from any number of DBMS's as long as the table
structure is the same. By that I mean that the number of columns and their
types are the same in the Select clause. Then, all you need to do is point
the DWO to the corresponding DBMS via its DB connection using the
SetTransObject ( ) method.

For example:

Connect using SQLCA1;
Connect using SQLCA2;

DC.SetTransObject (SQLCA1)
DC.Retrieve ( )
// process ....

DC.SetTransObject (SQLCA2)
DC.Retrieve ( )
// process ....

DisConnect using SQLCA1;
DisConnect using SQLCA2;

HTH

What database? With some (SQL Server) you can write SQL across
different databases by prefixing the table name with the database name
(called a four part name):
