Dear Community,

would it be possible to mangage Win Xp clients (thousands)
with Afaria instead of Microsoft SMS Server ?

What we need is a simple software support for software /
asset managament:

patches, service packes, updates for

- operating system, MS Windows XP
- Virusscanner
- MS Office (Outlook, Word)
- Some "utilities" PDF-Reader, Zip

and inventory of them in order to be able to update the
above software.

Additionally a Remote Control of course.

"Simple" means: the system management software (in this case
Afaria) have to offer minimum of functions - the rest will
be done by administrator manually. E.g. selection of clients
for an update...

Remark: none of the clients have adminstrator rights.

Thanks in advance,

Michel77

Afaria can absolutely manage the devices your referring to and provide
all the functions that you're looking for as. We also provide a robust
in-line scripting engine, an encryption client and a document
distribution mechanism all driven through a single console.

Can you tell me what type of network environment you'll be operating in?
Afaria is often used in the place of desktop-based management tools,
but almost universally for mobile and remote environments.

Thanks.
