Is a SAN required for ASE 15 CE? Currently we run ASE15 on Netapp over NFS,
and I can't find any storage details on the CE...

Try this:

http://infocenter.sybase.com/help/index.jsp?topic=/com.sybase.dc00760_1501/html/aseceig/CIHBFFEG.htm

Mark must have .sybase.com set in his DNS search path.

NFS database devices are not supported for CE. We need block storage
exported from shared disk, i.e. a SAN.

The answer... Looks like NFS is out... :(

All database devices, including quorum devices, must be located on raw
partitions. You cannot use the Network File System (NFS).

http://infocenter.sybase.com/help/index.jsp?topic=/com.sybase.dc00760_1501/html/aseceig/CIHBFFEG.htm

So will 100% NFS be supported in the future?

We currently don't have any plans to support NFS for cluster database
devices. We do plan to support database devices on cluster file systems
in a future release (disclaimer: plans can change). I don't have any
dates to provide on that.

Because running block based file systems in small IT shops in a pain in a rear and to costly.
