Hi alll,

I have a base datawindow with a nested report in the header band.
The dw inside the nested report has only computed fields for showing the
author of the report, date, title, etc. the values are assigned in the
retrieveend of the base dw.
This works fine, but when I do a Sort in the base dw, the nested report lose
the information. There is no rows in the nested report. :(
Anyone can tell me how to solve this behaviour? I need data in the nested
report.

TIA,

Juan Manuel

How are "the values" assigned? And how are these computed fields
presented? Is it really a nested report object? Are they datawindow
computed fields? or are you talking about a column returned in the SQL
based on an expression. I didn't quite manage to make sense of your
description, so I wasn't sure if you were using the right words there.

Anyway, there is no magic data row in the header band. If the header
band is in any way based on column values, the values will come from
the first detail row on that page. Similarly for any computed
expressions in any other band, the value displayed is based on the
data row it is attached to.

Perhaps you will get a clearer idea of what is really going on if you
temporarily moved this object from the header band to the detail row.

Thanks for your reply.

The nested report is an external dw (standard header for reports). Also I've
added an static text for testing purposes.
The way values are assigned is:
dw_1.Object.dw_cab.Object.date.Primary = Today()
dw_1.Object.dw_cab.Object.st_title.text = 'TEST'

When I assig values in the retrieveend of the base datawindow, all is ok.
When I do a Sort(), values are missing. I have to assign values again...

Regards,

Juan Manuel
