I have been trying to capture the up or down arrow in dropdown list boxes to
prevent the user from inadvertanly changing a value when navigating a grid.
(A frequent user complaint about grid datawindows with dropdowns).

The pbm_dwnkey seems to be consumed by the dropdownlist and KeyDown in
itemchanged does not seem to work either.

Anybody have any tricks for this. I think this has been asked for here
before but not resolved.

Thanks

You'll have to do this in the itemchanged event, as I already posted...

As I mentioned in that thread, for some reason I cannot fathom, I am not
able to get this to work. I am looking for reasons why I don't seem to be
able to capture the keydown in a ddlb and you (an others) are getting it to
work.

If I am in a regular text edit field I can capture the keydown without
difficulty - but the ability to capture the arrow disappears when I add the
ddlb. Perhaps it is something about the environment (PFC) or some
configuration of the ddlb.

Ill keep fooling with it - but I have spent a lot of time with this already
and looking for suggestions. By the way, I have seen another post on this
issue before.

I'd really like to reactiveate this thread as I never found an answer to
this question.

I am trying to find out possible reasons why I cannot get the KeyDown
function to work in the itemchanged event of datawindow columns on a grid
datawindow supported by a dropdownlist box. Phillip Salgannik asserts that
this work for him and uses it successfully.
