I have a DW with a column getting its data from another DW;
i.e. the edit style of the column is DropDownDataWindow. The
main DW has one parameter which is the same as the parameter
for the DDDW. In PB 8 when the main DW is retrieved, the
parameter is passed to the DDDW without any intervention on
my part. After migrating to PB 11, I must manually specify
the retrieval argument for the DDDW. How can I prevent this?
Thanks!

FWIW, if the datatobject that is used for the column with a dddw edit style
indeed has retrieval arguments, then this statement "In PB 8 when the main
DW is retrieved, the parameter is passed to the DDDW without any
intervention on my part" is FALSE.
Somebody wrote code to retrieve the dropdown.

You are absolutely correct. Somehow our souce control got
corrupted and the code that was migrated was old code. Sorry
for the bother!! But thanks for the response.

There must be some code somewhere - the retrieval argument for the main DW
is not automatically passed by PB. Maybe in an ancestor? Look for a GetChild
and a retrieve on the DataWindowChild. Find it in the original code [now you
see why it is so necessary to have a backup] and then fix the migrated code.
Or possibly a timing issue. Event sequences have been known to change
between versions.
