A CT is testing OB5.5. And they want to manipulate the data synchronized in
Advantage DB. Is there any document for getting started for ADS DB?

Hi,
why would they want to manipulate the ADS data? Could you
please be more elaborate about the customers purpose?

OneBridge does not stage or store any of the actual sync
data in the internal data base. The internal DB's are used
as "reference" to the data stores on the remote and backend
data systems.

Recommendable is to read log data out of the OneBridge log
files. Please search in the Help File for "ERM" to get the
entity relation ship model of the logging data.

Advantage Database information and newsgroups can be found
here:
http://devzone.advantagedatabase.com

Cheers,
Dirk Olderdissen

Since OBMG will collect device asset information, the customer wants to
utilize those information OBMG collected. That's why they need to acess the
Advantage DB. Not for synchronization data.

OK, that something that can be surely done and has been done
in the past. :-)

1. Find out how the customer wants to access the data
- Option 1: Read the data directly out of the ADS tables
- Option 2: Redirect the OB Log into a separate SQL DB
(Oracle, MS SQL etc)

2. If ADS is being used check out
http://devzone.advantagedatabase.com and get the data
drivers you require to read the data. OneBridge 5.5 is using
ADS 8.0

3. Check the Help File of OneBridge. There you will find the
ERD model of the log data.

4. You may want to reconfigure the auto archive function to
retain more data in the log DB.

Many of our customers are analyzing the OB log data with
their own tools.

Also check out the OneBridge Report viewer. You will find
the documentation for the Report viewer in the OneBridge
support area in the FAQ I think.

Cheers,
Dirk
