I need to take a database which has a text column which is currently stored
as text formatted in HTML and save that in my application as text. Is there
some feature of the datawindow or some other utility that will allow me to
convert HTML to Text?

Glenn;

Try Googling "HTML to Text converter". You should find allot of
utilities and controls out there ... some of which are free! :-)

HTH

Hi Chris

I found a lot of these myself - however they all seem to be utilities to rip
a web page or html file and write it out as a text file. I was looking for
a technique that would work for dealing with html stored in character
columns using the datawindow. Even a routine which I could call passing the
html in would work. I did find a C# code routine that used regular
expressions - but I am not up to converting C# to PB right now.

Row now it looks simpler just to parse the HTML myself and yank out the
text.

Thanks

Glenn

The latter is always an option for a good PB developer.
Good luck with that - I have confidence in you (use the force Luke)! :-)
