Hello,

I am unable to connect to any of our two Sybase Databases
over
the network. I am developing a Java servlet to accept
requests
from a Web page form. When I try to connect using Sybase
jConnect 5.2 within the NetBeans IDE, I get this error
message:

"Unable to add connection. Cannot establish a connection to
jdbc:sybase:Tds:usmpgsa0etnet09:2639/gmnalabs using
com.jdbc2.jdbc.SybDriver(JZ006: Caught IOException:
java.net.SocketException: Socket operation on nonsocket:
connect)."

The driver that I am using is: com.jdbc2.jdbc.SybDriver
and the URL is:
jdbc:sybase:Tds:usmpgsa0etnet09:2639/gmnalabs
where usmpgsa0etnet09 is the machine name of the database
server, 2639 is the port number and gmnalabs is the name of
the
Sybase database.

Thanks in advance for your help!!!

Thomas Wells

Thomas,

I have copied your post to another group, sybase.public.jconnect and
will respond to it there. It will get greater visibility there, as
this group is supposed to be for the ASE Cluster Edition product.
