This is more a question for my info than anything imperative:

I've got a dummy table (not created by me) with 2 columns, no primary keys,
no foreign keys, about 300 rows of data. I can insert data via Toad, our DB
software, but when I create a datawindow in PB that only reads from this
table, I can't insert any rows into it. I've made the table updateable,
highlighted both columns in both the key columns and updateable columns,
tries Update

Sorry, had a reminder pop up, apparently Alt+S is not only "Snooze", but
also "Send".

To pick up...

..tried Update as well as Use Delete then Insert, and all 3 of the options
under the "Where clause". Is there some other special setting that needs
made to make this table usable. I know I could just add a primary key and
that would fix it, but I'm trying to find another route in case I run across
another table like this.

Any info is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Chris

If pb can't determine the primary key, then there are no update
properties set by default, and every column object will have a
tabsequence of zero.

If you set the primary key and other update properties, and the tab
sequence, you should be able to update it just fine.

To clarify, you don't need a real unique/primary key. Just tell PB on the
dw update properties screen which columns form a logical unique key.
