Hi,

What are possible causes that importstring fails on a
datawindow.

here is my code snippet: I have a datawindow control(dw_1)

button script:
datastore ds_1
string ls_1

ds_1 = create datastore
ds_1.dataobject = dw_1.dataobject

ls_1 = dw_1.describe("datawindow.data")
ll_count=ds_1.importstring(ls_1)
messagebox("check here",string(ll_count)) --- this returns
-4

what could be the cause why it returns -4, I am sure that
the string does not overflow because I only have like 10
columns and around 100 rows. very small data there to import
but fails.

Any ideas will be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Neil
