Using pb 10.0
Have a datawindow with a field defined as long varchar in
the database. Database is the Adaptive Server Anywhere 9.

How do I assign a string value to that field?

Thanks,
Sharon

Look at the SelectBLOB and UpdateBLOB statements in the PB help file.

SelectBLOB & UpdateBLOB seem to be working on the database.
I need to go from a string variable to setting a column on a
datawindow (dw_1.object.data[row,5]) defined as a long
varchar.
I need to put a string variable (ls_desc) into that column
on the datawindow.
Any way to accomplish that? Just unsure how to do it.
Thanks,
Sharon

For a long varchar you shouldn't need any special handling.

What happens if you try dw_1.object.data[row, 5] = ls_desc ?

Why can't you use the long varchar directly in the datawindow as a part of the
select?

In article <486b7e6b.31f6.1681692777@sybase.com>, Sharon says...
