Hi,

Could you give me some advices how to configure ALR-8800
reader?
After running all of the needed connectors in RFiD Anywhere,
reader starts reading tags (diodes are blinking) but I get
no data from the messaging connector. I have used file
messaging connector and ALE connectors. Do I have to specify
which antenna is responsible for readind tags e.g.
Source1:ALR-8800\antenna1 in ALEServiceModule? I have two
antennas in my reader, one for transmission and the second
one for receiving. Do you have some hardware configuration
or hardware connector guides?

Thanks in advance for your help.

You should be able to use the Alien 8800 user guide for
configuration of the reader. However, as long as you have
the connectivity parameters set (TCPIP or Serial) and you
have the correct number of antennas identified, you should
be getting output. In the connector properties, set the
Trace Level to verbose, save the properties, then start the
connector and put some tags in the read zone. Go to the
Monitoring page in the Admin Console and see if you can see
the tags for that connector. If you can, then the connector
is working properly.

Can you provide some info on how you are trying to get the
tag events to your messaging connector?

Tony
