We have a problem in our application which is required to
automatically generate and send an email to a long list of
registered users when their Professional Licenses are about
to expire. The problem is that our PowerBuilder Application
does generate the email but it starts the Outlook email
client on the internal end users local PC instead of the
Appeon Server (where we have an email account configured).

This being the Department of State – it is illegal for
them to publish / send emails/notifications using an
internal end user account. Do you have any ideas suggestions
on how we can handle this?
Best regards,

Jim

You could refactor the e-mail code into an NVO that you deploy to EAServer,
and then invoke it from the application as a middle-tier component. With
that architecture, the component would be running on the server instead of
on the client

What version/build of PB and Appeon are you on?
