Hi,
We've recently installed Afaria 5.5 server and administrator
on a stand-alone windows server 2003. We use port 8080 for
the Admin console. When we open the console it ask for
configure security, but if we do the config it pops an error
"Unable to config security
for:http://localhost:8080/Afaria/*. Reason: Request for the
permission of
type'System.security.permissions.securitypermission,
mscorlib, version=2.0.0.0...'failed"

Then we run cmd "caspol.exe -m -addgroup All_Code -url
http://localhost:8080/Afaria/* FullTrust -n
Afaria_http://localhost:8080/Afaria/*". it says success, but
if we open the admin console it asks for configure security
again.
We logged in as a local administrator. Please help.

Qi Yong,

A few items to check:

1. Clear the cache of Internet Explorer
2. Close the Browser
3. Run SecurityConfig.exe with Browser closed.

If it still fails to configure the .NET Security verify the following:

1. You have typed the virtual directory name exactly like you typed during
installation of Afaria Administrator - if not, try again after performing
the above steps.
2. That ASP.NET is installed with IIS - if not, you will need to uninstall
EVERYTHING including IIS, reboot, then install in this order IIS w/ASP.NET,
.NET Framework 2.0, Afaria Server, Afaria Admin, Afaria service packs & hot
fixes. Use the .NET Framework from the Afaria installation media
(redistributables folder).

Thanks,
Chris

Qi,
If you are using Terminal Services / Remote Desktop (RDP), you MUST use
the /console switch when you connect. You can specify the /console switch
on the command line. (i.e. mstsc.exe /console). The use of this switch
will insure that you are connecting to Session ID 0 (zero).

Thanks,
Chris
