Chris,

Pylon Anywhere has not been end-of-lifed, however OneBridge has similar
features and is our long-term focus for wireless email and PIM
synchronization.

When the iAnywhere web site was rolled back into Sybase.com, the
separation between Pylon Desktop and Pylon Anywhere got lost, but a
specific search should return the documents we have for Pylon Anywhere.
If you can't find what you need, you might want to post your questions
to news://forums.sybase.com:119/ianywhere.public.pylonanywhere.general .

hello - so if the long term plan is OneBridge and Mobile Office - why is
Pylon AnyWhere driopped form any 'product' description from the web - yes,
you can 'find' 'old' documents on the Sybase web, but not much else -

- why can't sales or the technical group give a direct response to these
questions and/or provide a roadmap conversion plan on this? -

- why am I continuing a service agreement on Pylon AnyWhere vs migrating? -

Chris,

I guess, based on your post in the Pylon Anywhere newsgroup, that you
have received adequate answers to your questions.

- yes and no -

from Pylon Anywhere newsgroup - is this newsgroup a dead site (last post
4/10/08)?
re: FINALLY - I did get someone that knows something about the migration
path from Pylon AnyWhere to OnBridge & Mobile Office!!! - 1) renew the
existing contract 2) download, install, test OneBridge 3) license issued for
concurrrent use of both systems 4) migrate users to new platform

- why didn't I get an end-of-life notice and a migration plan as a
registered customer? - the eol notes are about Pylon Desktop and Pylon
Conduit - never go any posts on Pylon AnyWhere - multiple phone calls and
posts later, voice mails to dead mail boxes - final call to 1-800-827-2273
SALES, Sapna.Raj@sybase.com responded and was able to lay out a migration
plan (above) -

- if a support agreement for Pylon AnyWhere is in place, licenses will be
transitioned to OneBridge -

- the Sybase site and info on OneBridge err Mobile Office err Mobile Office
Suite is as clear as mud about what does what - the site info all cross
links - even the trial downloads point to different files -

- it would be nice if Mobile Office Suite not only addressed / supported the
Pylon AnyWhere device list, but also integrated M-Business plus supported
BlackBerries (without going throough a BES) and fully supported iPhones - it
does 'some' of this depending on which add-ons are in the suite -

Owen,

The Pylon Anywhere newsgroup is not dead, in that we still monitor it,
but as you say, customers have not been posting much on it lately.

You didn't get an end-of-life notice for Pylon Anywhere because it
hasn't been end-of-lifed yet. At such time as Pylon Anywhere is
end-of-lifed, a notice will go out, with a generous buffer during which
tech support will still be available. Sorry for the trouble you had
contacting sales.

I expect the website will sort itself out shortly in terms of
documentation. To my knowledge, OneBridge supports all of the devices
supported by Pylon Anywhere, and a great number more, as well as more
backends. Please see
http://www.sybase.com/files/Data_Sheets/IASValidatedDeviceList_5.6_063008.pdf
. If specific devices supported by Pylon Anywhere are not on this list,
please let us know.

As to supporting Blackberries and iPhones, we are of course interested
in these markets, but the features we can offer on these platforms isn't
only up to us.

Let's take this discussion back to the Pylon Anywhere newsgroup. I
responded here because I didn't want the thread to end with unanswered
questions.

Regards,

Mike Loop
Pylon Tech Support
