When I logged on to check the Afaria server this morning, I was presented
with a popup and a corresponding system error in the logs:

Event Type: Information
Event Source: Application Popup
Event Category: None
Event ID: 26
Date: 7/18/2008
Time: 12:00:01 AM
User: N/A
Computer: MANAGEMENT
Description:
Application popup: Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library : Runtime Error!

Program: d:\Program Files\Afaria\Bin\XSGSTask.exe

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual
way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.

Following this was s string of errors saying it could not find the database.
I noticed the ASA application for Afria was not running. Once I started it,
everything appears to be running normally.

Any ideas on this error?

Thanks!

By default Afaria runs all system schedules at 12:00 AM. If database was
off-line at the time it could explain the issue. Check Window Event log to
see if there is any ADO or Database connectivity related errors.

Afaria re-routs Server Messages to Windows event logs when it's not able to
write to the Database. These ADO errors indicate that Afaria lost
connection to the database. You need to figure out why Database keeps going
down?

Regards,
Aziz
