For some strange reason Sybase Central has started to drop
connections within 30 seconds - "Sybase Central has
determined that its connection to the database ' DB_Name'
has been closed. this can occur if the connection times-out,
or if the server is shutdown. The connection will be
deleted."

It's strange - the default 240 Idle setting has always
worked, and even changing this in the connection string to
360 (it shows under 'All Connected Users' as 360 as well)
has no effect! It's getting really annoying...

Any ideas where to look? All the DB's are left running and
don't shut down after a disconnect BTW!

Bit more info - it seems to shut down just after 120
seconds, that would suggest a liveness issue as the default
for that is 120! Also I have now got an extended error:-

SQLCODE: -308
SQLSTATE: 08501

Setting LTO=5000 is certainly a workaround - it will give me
over an hour of idle time, and since all other connections
are web based (connect - action - disconnect) everything
should be fine! I am curious though - why after over ten
years should it kick off?
