Hi,

with WS 2.0.1, you can perform simultaneously sql commands.
This works fine, but not when i run an intensive (with lots
of looping) script. When this script is running, i got the
impression that i can start other sql commands for a small
time (couple of minutes). The sql command is executed, and
the result is displayed. However, after a while, it suddenly
stops running my simultaneously sql commands, waiting for my
looping script to end (that could take some hours), and then
executing my sql command...

This is sometimes annoying, cause i want to monitor my
running script by running some very small selects.

i hope you can repro my problem...

Greetz

Hi, Pieter:

Thank you for your feedback!

Which database server did you run your scripts against? ASE, SQL Anywhere or
Sybase IQ.
Are there any error messages shown when your simultaneously sql commands are
stopped?
Could you provide the detailed repro. steps and scripts so we will look into
it.

Hi Daniel,

We are using ASE/15.0.2/EBF 15097 ESD#2. No error messages are shown, my
second sql statements just wait for my script to end. I created a very
simple sample with common tables so i don't have to give you our DB.

-- 1st looping script
declare @id int, @count int
set @count = 0
while @count < 500000
begin
set rowcount 1
select @id = id from sysobjects
update sysobjects set crdate = crdate from sysobjects where id = @id
set @count = @count + 1
end

-- 2nd command to run while executing 1st script
select * from sysobjects where id = <choose an id>

Scenario:
1. Run the 1st script
2. After a 2-3 minutes -> run the second select (this will normally work)
3. After some minutes more -> the second select won't run immediately, but
is it added in the 'progress' view
4. The second script will be executed right after the first script ends

Hope you can repro now...

Greetz
