Hello,

just question if it is possible to install the 32bit Sybase
Anywhere on a Winxp 64bit pc. I really only need the network
client only. When I want to make the ODBC configurations, I
dont get the SSybase Anywhere 9 driver to use. Only the
default SQL Server driver. DO i need to get the 64bit Sybase
to get it to work ?

This will work but you need to ensure that you are using the 32bit ODBC
driver manager. For some reason, the 64bit and 32 bit manager are both
name odbcadm32.exe. Check task manager when the administer is running
to ensure that the correct bitness is running.

There seems to be only one odbcadm.exe on my system. Can't
exactly determine if it is 32bit or 64bit, but in process
list, it is not marked with *32 like all the other 32bit
applications

When I "run as" administrator the odbcadm.exe , directly
from system32 folder, then I get all the other drivers
loaded when the administrator starts. Perhaps it is just
user permissions.

Thanks for the reply. will look some more into it

Wilhelm,

If you have a true 64-bit version of Windows, there should be two copies
of the odbcad32.exe:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\odbcad32.exe <-- 64-bit version
C:\WINDOWS\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe <-- 32-bit version

See: http://www.sybase.com/detail?id=1054825 for more information.

Regards,
