Has the ASA Client in SQL Anywhere 10 been replaced by
something else or is the only client choice for ce
ultralite?

Or, yet another option...am I missing something? I can't
find the asa client anywhere.

Thank you in advance!
Paula

Paula,

I'm not 100% sure what you're referring to when you're mentioning the
"ASA Client" in your message below.

You can access a SQL Anywhere database on a CE device via the ODBC, OLE
DB, ADO.NET or Embedded SQL interfaces (See:
http://www.sybase.com/detail?id=1051965 ). If you'd like detail on how
to program via these interfaces, please see our documentation:

http://www.ianywhere.com/developer/product_manuals/sqlanywhere/1001/en/html/dbpgen10/dbpgen10.html

If you're referring to MobiLink, we still support dbmlsync on Windows CE
devices:

http://www.ianywhere.com/developer/product_manuals/sqlanywhere/1001/en/html/dbmnen10/mn-mc-syncclient.html

Thank you for the information. My question was hurried...I
kind of panicked.

I understand now that the iAnywhere.Data.ASAClient.dll (for
.net) was re-named to iAnywhere.Data.SQLAnywhere.dll. And
from the documentation you pointed out, I now see you have
to browse to add the reference...it's not in the .net
components window.

Thanks a million!

I must be missing something. I installed
SQLAnywhere10_Windows_Developer_10.0.1.exe - the free
developer tool.

The instructions for using the SQLAnywhere .net provider say
to include the dll from
For the Windows CE .NET 2.0 Data Provider, the default
location is install-dir\ce\Assembly\v2 for each supported
Windows CE hardware platform (for example,
ce\Assembly\v2\arm.30).

I do not have this directory. Is there something else I
need to install? I made sure I installed every option for
the dev tool. Is this part not included in the free
download? Do I need SQL Anywhere Studio (I have a license
for that but it is not installed)

Thanks,
Paula

Paula,

Yes - there is a separate developer download of SQL Anywhere 10.0.1 for
Windows CE.

Try:
http://download.sybase.com/eval/windows/SQLAnywhere10_WindowsCE_Developer_10.0.1.exe
