I have a VPN and my app usually connects to a remote ADS (Win XP ADS ver 7 )
using \\n.n.n.n:2000\add\DD.add and AdsServerTypes[stADS_REMOTE,stADS_AIS]
in the connection object

in this situation something happend just yesterday and the app won't
connnect any more giving error 6602: Client comm layer timed out waiting
for receive packet from the Advantage Database Server. axGetCollationTables

After some test if I remove stADS_REMOTE from the AdsServerTypes options it
back to connect fine. So what's the difference between both options? and
why the don't work togheter ?

Please can someone give me any clu of what to check?

I'm pretty sure something in your network was changed not to allow huge
packets being transferred any more. We've seen issues like that in the
past.
Try limiting the packet size (ads.ini on client side, default is 1450):

[settings]
packet_size=512

Solved, it seems to be a Internet Provider issue.
