Hello, I am using PB 11.2 Build 8542 and the SQL Native
Client(SNC). My problem is: I have a datawindow that
updates a SQL 2K5 table with a trigger on it. The trigger
updates various columns in the same table as the datawindow.
Even when I set my datawindow update properties to "Key
Columns", I get the "Row changed between retrieve and
update". I have this same exact code running in PB V8.0.4
using MSS native driver and it works fine updating the same
rows with the same data in the same database. I have run SQL
Profiler against the database and captured the SQL issued by
the dw in both my 11.2 and 8.0.4 versions. They are
identical. I am stumped? Is this an SNC bug? PB 11.2 bug?

Thank You in advance for any help you can provide.

After digging further through this newsgroup I found a
solution/workaround for my problem. By simply putting SET
NOCOUNT ON at the top of my trigger, it fixed the datawindow
problem.

Yeah set nocount on is usually our first or second line after the paremeter
declarations for Stored Procedures, UDFs and Triggers.

also watch your raiserror level....intially we had a number 1, but we had to
boost them up to 11 before they bubbled up in the apps...but that was after
startig to use dbms = 'OLE DB'

usng dbms = MSS worked fine and bubbled up.
