Hi,

Using PB10.5 (Tried this on 10.5.1 Build 6684, 7611, 7699)

We have migrated our apps from 7.03 to 10.5 after a lot of effort!
Finally we managed to solve most of our problems, but now we face the
following:

When running the app. and a report (or datawindow is retrieved)
we allow the user the option to sort the data.
This is accomplished by calling the method dw1.SetSort(ls_null) ~ ls_null is
a string set to null value which force the trigger of the 'Specify Sort
Columns'
default dialog box.

Now, when I drag a column from the available columns list, to the sort
columns list, the checkbox that enables ascending or descending sorting
is hidden under the text label of the column name!!!

To unhide the check box, you have to click with the mouse on the selected
column and press the space bar on the keyboard. (This probably changes the
value of
the check box from Yes to No).

But now the text label of the selected column is partially hidden as if you
have dragged it to the left!

NOTE:
Example Attached!!!

Any solutions and comments will be appreciated!
Thank you
Stelios Stylianou

It looks like it is horizontally scrolling. Does this happen when you use
the sort dialog in the DW painter? It's the same dialog so it should behave
the same at runtime and in the IDE. I'm using 11.0 and don't have that
problem.

Does it happen when you doubleclick a column in the left list or just when
you drag and drop.

Just for fun you might want to try changing your system font to see if that
makes any difference.

Regards,
John

nevermind the doubleclick thing. I was thinking of another dialog that
supports doubleclicking.

Thank you for your reply!
System font is Large Size (120dpi)
This does not happen if you retrieve a dw on development environment
and then I choose menu>rows>sort

When I change the system font to Normal Size(96dpi) it works on runtime
also!!
Note that most if our clients use large fonts, mainly beacuse this is one of
the requirements
of our applications!
Any suggestions, a newer fix maybe?
Thanks

ok, so the runtime version of the sort dialog doesn't allow for large size
fonts, but it does in the PB IDE sort dialog. Lovely.

One option is to use the PFC Sort dialog, which lists the columns vertically
rather than horizontally. Also, you can customize the dialog to allow for
the larger font sizes. Of course, that's if your app is PFC-based already OR
you want to rip the sort dialog and functionality out of PFC and integrate
it into your app.
