Hi all,

I have a client of mine who would like to format his laptop
completely and use it for a different purpose other than
originally intended. This is a company laptop that is now
under his ownership. Afaria Security Manager is setup with
full drive encryption. We have the correct passwords/etc to
access the drive but we cannot seem to boot from
CD-ROM/DVD-ROM. It seems as though the password for HDD
access comes after the computer tries to boot from the
optical drive.

Is there someway to have the system grant access so I can
format the drive and wipe Afaria +all other contents on the
drive off of it?

Thank You,
Kevin

Which version of BeCrypt do you have running?

If you have 4.2.9 version of Afaria Security Manager (ASM), using the Client
Administrator on the Client machine, there is a decommission feature
available via the Pre-boot management button on the Local Machine Policy
tab. The decommission feature will allow you to securely wipe all data
from the machine.

This is discussed in the following documentation:
Afaria 5.5 Security Manager for Windows User Guide

Thanks,
Chris
