In previous versions of Power Builder the Rich Text Editor allowed users to
utilize non-supported features such as font dialog, zoom, find, and replace.
In the latest version of Power Builder these features are no longer working.

Does anyone know why the functionality was removed and if it is to be put
back in?

The features were called by sending a message
send(iul_Txhandle, TX_ZOOM,al_Zoom , 0 )

The features that do not seem to be working any longer are:

Paragraph

Font

Numbering

Find

Replace

Zoom

It was taken away because it's an entirely different control with a
different interface. The old control was an OEM of HighEdit, the new
one is an OEM if Tx Text Control.

The key is "non-supported". They provided as much of the supported
functionality of the old control as they could in the new, and we got
some new features in the bargain. As for the non-supported stuff,
we'll have to come up with new non-supported ways of doing it, like we
did the old non-supported stuff.

What Bruce was trying to tell you... the control has changed from 11 to 13.

iul_Txhandle = FindWindowEx( hWin, 0, "TX13P", 0 )

This will fix your problem.

ROFL! I hope you didn't mean that.

There was a message based API in earlier versions of the Tx Text
Control. They stopped supporting it since (the current versions that
PB uses are 11 and 13), and I can no longer find any documetation for
that API.

The Tx Text Control web site has some tech notes which reference the
API:

http://www.textcontrol.com/downloads/library/formatting/syntax1/
