I put a gradient on a DW Header band and it looks good in the DW
painter, however when I print the DW there is no gradient. Additionally,
I have on on a column and it too does not print.

Are gradients for display purposes only?

Hi Randy,

seems to behave like background colors, they don't print too. So you have
to place a rectangle on the band, beam it into the background and put the
gradient on it. The problem is then to size it correct for autosize height
bands.

Hi Randy;

I seem to remember that this was noted as a limitation (bug) in the
Beta testing cycle.
Not sure what the Sybase response was though on that one.

PowerBuilder has always ignored the background color when printing. The only
way to print background color is to place a Rectangle object and have it sit
behind the other controls.

I am happy that I stuck to this and tried to figure out the problem.

First, for those who said that PB does not print DW background colors, I
have found this NOT to be true. It Does! No more hidden rectangles!
Gradients! Yeah! Even column gradients work great!

Look on the Print tab for the DW properties....check the property "Print
Shows Background". It works!

Now, there are a few problems with Vista and Gradients. See CR 541106.
You can only use Horizontal and Vertical brush modes.

Randy;

Thanks for the update!
Looks like maybe this feature/property was Sybase's fix for the noted
limitation in the early beta.

:-)

I believe this property is new to 11.5.
