When I try to save Datawindow in Excel8 format, I get empty spreadsheet.
Save as pdf works fine.
I am using PB10.5 with Excel 2002.

Is the datawindow a composite? Did you try one of the earlier Excel
versions? Is the data within the limits of Excel (65k rows, 255 columns
IIRC)?

It is tabular Datadindow, but it includes nested reports. I think, datawindow
with nested reports could not be saved as Excel spreadsheet. But pdf format does
not have such limitations and works fine.

DataWindow reports are images so creating a PDF is straightforward.
Exporting to Excel relies on the data buffers. In the case of a composite
there is no data set. For other types that contain nested reports there is
some ambiguity as to the data to be exported.

John

One other option is to actually perform the export on hidden DataWindows.
The hidden DW could combine the data so one spreadsheet gets all the data
(if you can logically join the data).

I have sort of the same problem, but the data is hidden in the created
spreadsheet.
Mark the whole spreadsheet and navigate to format/column/unhide to
reveal the hidden data.
Why this happens and how to make it unhidden at creation is my
question to this forum.
Anyone?

Does that happen for data in simple DWs (no nesting)? Very odd.
