Hello Forum,

Norton Security is displaying the following warning:
" MyProgranName.exe is attempting to access the Internet"
Remote address: 224.0.1.55 : 2989

I am using xHarbour + Fivewin + ADS 9.0

Can anyone tell me how to fix this issue?

Regards,

George

George:

Yep, it's because your Norton Antivirus, firewall or other protection
program detects the ADS client is trying to use de IP protocol.

You must "teach" Norton to let your application pass thru the ip warning
or shutoff Norton while you are using your ADS client program.

Hi Rene,
It's a pleasure heard from you.
I have been using ADS for a few months and this is the first time that I
have this situation.

Rene does exist a fix, I mean any instruction in any CFG or INI file, that
can prevent ADS trying to use de IP protocol?

Best regards,

George

George:

You can try two things:

1) Install IPX protocol in both, client and server and give a try

or

2) Go to Norton's configuration and add your .EXE file into the list of
"valid" programs, you will find there the web browser, your mail client,
messenger if you use it, just add your .EXE file name into it, and
that's all.

to prevent discovery (which is where the multicast packets are coming
from), use an ads.ini file with LAN_IP/LAN_PORT settings.
