Hi,
I'm using Powerbuilder 6.5 and trying to modify a datawindow
printer using the following code:

ls_dwprinter = lds_cb_test.Object.DataWindow.Printer
lds_cb_test.Modify
("DataWindow.Printer='\\server\printername'")
ls_dwprinter = lds_cb_test.Object.DataWindow.Printer
lds_cb_test.Print()

The modify doesn't seem to be working though. ls_dwprinter
is the default system printer before and after the modify.
Is there something up with the code or is it a limitation of
6.5?

Thanks
Sean

Where is your error checking? What is the return value from the Modify
call? BTW - that's a hint. According to PB11 (and I don't think this has
changed though you are using an ancient version of PB), that is not the
correct syntax. AFAIK, PB 6 did have the dw syntax tool, which (using PB11)
indicates that the correct syntax is:

<DW Control Name>.Modify("DataWindow.Print.PrinterName='<string containing
the printer name for the report output>'")

I thought it was a read-only attribute in older versions of PB. I think
this was changed in PB10 or 10.5.

Online help in PB9 implies that it can be changed. Help for PB7 doesn't
even show it as an attribute, so this could very well be.
