Hello.

A costumer wants to migrate some data that they have in an application using
Adaptive Server 7 to an application that we have sold to them.

But they have not the passwords to connect to this database.

There is any way to retrieve this data ?, any enterprise do this services ?,
Sybase support could do it ?, what we need to demonstrate that my costumer
is the legal owner of this database ?.

We can provide the database, a full VNC connect to the computer where the
application runs, etc. ...

The database is not encrypted (because we can see their data in notepad).

Thanks for your help.

The customer will need to contact the vendor of the original application to discuss the options for
migrating the data. The customer should also review the contract with the original application
vendor to determine the legalities regarding the data and data ownership.

Have your customer contact technical support who can discuss the
options, any requirements, and pricing related to this work. As the
vendor, you will likely need to also provide confirmation that there are
no specific issues with this work, should the customer wish to proceed.
