Hi,

I have a Desctop Version of a Sales Application for our
Sales Reps. I used Enterprize Powerbuilder 11.2 and Database
as Adaptive Server Anywhere 10 or (SQL Anywhere 10).

This Application needs to used by the Russian Sales Reps
(NON English Reader).

Please advise me where to start to Convert all the Interface
and Reports and Database to Russian.

Can we purchase any Conversion Tool or S/W that is
available?

P.S. I did NOT use any PFC.

Thanks
niladri

Nilandri,

I can't speak to the PowerBuilder aspect of your question, but SQL
Anywhere 10 database engine has a deployment version that's localized
for Russia.

The simplest way to create that deployment is to copy the
"dblgru10.dll" file to the %SQLANY10%\win32 directory, and set the
"SALANG" environment variable (See:
http://dcx.sybase.com/html/dbdaen10/da-da-envvar-s-4261816.html ) to
"RU" (if the locale isn't already set correctly by the operating system
settings).

See:
http://dcx.sybase.com/html/dbdaen10/da-language-locale-natlang.html
for more information.

*Note: Not all aspects of our software is localized for Russia - only
the deployment components. You cannot find any Russian documentation,
for example.

---

If you're planning on also storing Russian data in the database, the
database itself needs be set up to store Russian characters, which
possibly means initializing it on a different collation and character set.

See: http://dcx.sybase.com/html/dbdaen10/da-natlang-s-3054843.html

Regards,
