What feature could I use to have an insert into a table trigger some kind of
event or message that my application (probaby java) can pick up on so I do
not have to poll this table looking for new entries?

The problem is we just found out a 3rd party vendor we are to communicate
with wants to use database tables. They want to insert a record into a
table that we would have to pick up on. This is a time critical application
where we typically use direct messaging; however, this vendor does not want
to do this. I'm thinking there must be a way to create an insert trigger on
this table which could then create an event or message that our application
can pick up on to know when there is something to get from the table.

The database will be ASA 10.0.1.

Thanks
