I have an application (standalone exe) that required to
store some data (five tables with 100 records each) in a
database. I need to have relational capabilities and also
INSERT, DELETE, SELECT access. I currently use MS Access.
That means I required to have an Access database file (no
need to install MS Access)and the application only on the
destination computer. If I want to replace the Access file
with Sybase product, what is the best solution. Is it Ultra
Lite?
PS:I do not want to install any other software on the
destination computer.

John,

I have to say that what you describe below is not quite true, that fact the destination computer
does not require anything to be installed to read the MS Access data file. The computer actually
needs to have Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) drivers installed. This is most likely
installed by default on the computer.

To run SQL Anywhere or UltraLite you will be required to install files on the machine to run the
database server. We do not have any integration with MDAC. The best solution is dependent on the
requirements of the application and the types of queries you execute.

Here's some data sheets on SQL Anywhere:
