I will describe the problem below.
I have 2 servers. The servers are configured:
Both servers are Microsoft Windows.

Server A contains Sybase database
Server B contains Oracle database

I need to have the data, as it updates the tables in SYBASE,
update tables in Oracle.

Server A has an application running. When a record is
inserted into table (1) with field AA of that record having
data in it, I then want to extract the necessary data and
update the tables in ORACLE with data from SYSBASE. I was
thinking of doing that thru an Oracle procedure on Server B.

Then the procedure on the Oracle server will insert the
data into the necessary Oracle tables. But is it possible
to update the Oracle tables directly from SYBASE?

At times there could be several days that go by before any
data would be sent from SYBASE to ORACLE. And at other
times there could be as many several hundred (100-200)
records being transmitted every minute. At this time the
flow would only go from SYBASE to ORACLE.

This process needs to run 24 hours a day 6 days a week.
I need to know if SYBASE has an Insert/Update trigger that
could extract the necessary data or how you would recommend
doing that.

How to establish a connection between SYBASE and ORACLE?
Could I use an ODBC connection?

Thank you

This doesn't actually have anything to do with replication agent.

What you need is the Sybase Direct Connect for Oracle product (similar
to Oracle's transparent gateway products). This is an add-on option,
and you need to contact Sybase Sales to maybe get an evaluation copy,
pricing, etc.
